Apparently his blood counts went back up, then back down. That combined with maybe seeing some re-accumulation in the x-ray has prompted them to call in the team to take him back in to the OR. His surgeon's assistant is the one doing the procedure. They are going in with a camera thru a small slit at first, and drain it out and have a look around. Depending on what they find, they may also have to make a larger slit and do something else. Worst case, go back in thru the breastbone. They are of course intubating & sedating him and will do the bronch scope too.
Julie's been told by the doctor and Jenny not to drive back in the middle of the night having gotten a cortisone injection earlier in the day. They'll call us in a couple of hours and let us know what they found/did.
