So, feel free to send stuff. He's only in ICU bc of the LVAD. Otherwise, they are pretty pleased with his physical and mental condition.
Dr. Merkel will be HIS dr while Daddy is here. He will be evaluated by speech therapy tomorrow. PT & OT-wise, he will probably be good to go in 1-2 weeks. However, the major concern is that speech therapy clears him fully for being able to operate his LVAD on his own.
I put up his lights (using some empty curtain hooks!). Will bring some tape for the 4th of July decorations next time. He's got OT at 0730 tomorrow for getting dressed & washing up.
He's looking pretty good. His scar healed up really nicely actually. And his hair IS growing. He said that when they were getting him all packed up, he goes "oh yeah, please pack the comb." Then "Well, I guess I don't need that anymore!"
Hey! I saw him yoda-walking around without a walker. Small steps, but steady. And the nurse observes while he changes his battery for now.
Yay, you got the lights hung back up! Thank you!!! The picture of Daddy smiling looks so good. He looks happy...as happy as he can anyway IN the hospital.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is a pretty good smile. He is VERY happy to be out of the regular hospital and in rehab, even though he's in ICU. He said like 4 times that he really needs to get home. Everything he can do here will help him to get home and STAY home.
