We've now been kicked out for a few minutes while they remove the balloon that's been assisting his heart rate. This will allow him to sit up and eat and drink, which he hasn't been able to do for a couple of days.
The docs said it will be a couple more days of tests to determine full eligibility for the LVAD. They're quite extensive, but some of the initial work-up has begun.
I think all he cares about right now though is getting something to drink, and then something to eat.
