Chores

Today Daddy was dressed when I got up to his room. He even got his socks on by himself. This has been hard because they are tight & he's had to really work his feet into them. I was totally impressed though today. His buddy Mac (aka the Macasaurous) came by to visit.

After social time, we did a million things.
1. drained the 225 gallon water tank in the garden
2. bleed gas lines on furnaces
3. I put a wheel back on the garage door track so that we could close the door
4. aired up a tire on the truck
5. put the battery charger on the truck battery
6. cleaned out the trunk of Daddy's car so that we'd have room to take stuff to DC with us.

We drove the gator around alot today also, but Daddy still did a great deal of walking on his own. Alot of it was on uneven ground.

For late lunch or early dinner I cooked some chicken for us and layered it up. Bottom to top it was corn tortillas, grilled chicken, onion, 3 pepper cheese, tomatoes, and topped with an over easy egg. These were the fresh eggs his neighbor Dave gave us. It was so good. Daddy really cleaned his plate fast.

Tomorrow we have to go to the VA hospital again for a blood draw. They need to check his INR level. Friday it was a little low at 2.3. It was 2.7 when he was discharged on Wednesday. 2.7 is the perfect level. This is adjusted with the dosage of Cumidin (the blood thinner). The foods you eat can also affect this. We are watching those carefully.

Tuesday afternoon we will head back to Pittsburgh. Daddy has a follow up with the VAD clinic Wednesday morning.
