Someone pointed ot that this is the first time I've really lived with my dad. I didn't grow up with him, so all of the time we spent together was in vacation mode, not "real life". We're all getting back to real life now that the holidays are over. They weren't concerned about his BP this time, and Daddy reports that his vision continues to get better with amiodarone getting out of his system. In particular, he sees less halos at night. He had a cut-off time figured out for when he needed to leave Baltimore in order to avoid driving at night.
Daddy put on taco night this week. We hung up Jenny's pinata and played mariachi music in the background. It was fun.
This week, Daddy went to his LVAD checkup solo on Wednesday. Everything normal, and the next one is scheduled for the end of February. He had a CT scan at the Baltimore VA on Thursday, too. It was either routine for LVAD maintenance or part of the transplant tests that were finally approved, not for any particularly special reason. Julie drew out maps and directions and he was fine as we'd been there many times and he's already driven there several of them.
We got a tankless water heater installed this week while Julie was working hard on her contract. Jaron went to some kind of stupid mandatory briefing about getting out of the military.
Friday night the Pirozzis, Strassers, and Ard/Boxwell parties went to a Korean BBQ restaurant for Skip's birthday. It was super delicious and Daddy had fun trying new flavors. After, we played the game Daddy gave Skip for xmas, Mixed Nuts. It was a fun night out.
